By me, O my saviour, stand,
In ev’ry trying hour;
Guard me with thy outstretched hand.
And hold me by thy power;
Mindful of thy faithful word,
Thine all sufficient grace bestow:
Keep me, keep me, dearest Lord,
And never let me go.

Give me, Lord, an holy fear,
And fix it in my heart,
That I may from evil near,
With speedy care depart:
Still thy timely help afford,
And all thy loving kindness shew;
Keep me, keep me dearest Lord,
And never let me go.

Let me never leave thy breast,
From thee, my saviour, stray:
Thou art my support and rest,
my true and living way;
My exceeding great reward,
In heav'n above, and earth below,
Keep me, keep me dearest Lord,
And never let me go.

Never let me go, till I,
Up-borne on songs of love,
Gain the regions of the sky,
And take my seat above:
Thou hast past thy gracious word,
That thou wilt bring me safely through;
Thou wilt therefore keep me, Lord,
And never let me go.
