The Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time (Proper 24 in Anglican kalendars) was first observed in 1970, following the Second Vatican Council and the adoptation by many churches of the three-year lectionary. The three pericopes are organized around the Gospels of Matthew 22:15-21 (Caesar's due), Mark 10:35-45 (the servant of all), and Luke 18:1-8 (the corrupt judge). The propers are borrowed from existing chants.
