Ce moys de may,
ma verte cotte je vestiray.
De bon matin me lèveray,
ce joly moys de may.
Un sault, deux saults, trois saults,
en rue je feray,
Pour voir si mon amy verray.
Je luy diray qu'il me descotte;
Me descottant le baiseray.

English.png English translation

This month of May
my green skirt I'll wear
early in the morning, I'll rise
in this lovely month of May
one hop, two hops, three hops
into the street I'll make
to see if I'll see my friend
I'll tell him to remove my skirt
while he removes it, I'll kiss him.

Singing translation by Anita Gould:

This month of May, this month of May,
This month of May, in green array'd
My skirt of green I’ll don today.

This lovely morn I’ll start the day
This merry, merry month of May
This lovely morn I’ll start the day:

One hop, two hops, three hops into the street I’ll stray
My beau to seek, and bid him play.
Remove my skirt, I shall him pray
And skirtless thus, a kiss I’ll lay.

German.png German translation

In diesem Monat Mai
werde ich mein grünes Kleid anziehen.
Am frühen Morgen werde ich aufstehen,
in diesem schönen Mai.

Translation by Stanisław Jonczyk

To miesiąc maj, to miesiąc maj
to śliczny miesiąc maj.
Zieloną sukienkę włożę mą,
gdy wstanę pięknym porankiem
Raz hop, dwa hop, dróżką pobiegnę
by spotkać się z mym kochankiem.
I powiem mu by mi ją zdjął,
Całować go będę z chwilą tą…
To miesiąc maj, to miesiąc maj
zieloną sukienkę włożę.

Spanish.png Spanish translation

Este mes de mayo,
mi verde abrigo yo vestiré.
Muy temprano me levantaré,
este lindo día de mayo.
Un salto, dos saltos, tres saltos,
a la calle llegaré,
para ver si a mi amigo encontraré.
Que me quite el vestido le diré;
cuando me desvista, lo besaré.
