Sancto Laurentio
Martyris Christi colimus triumphum
annuum tempus venerando, cuius
cernuo voto prece iam rotundus
orbis adorat.

Pontifex Sixtus monuit ministrum
fixus in ligno crucis exequeris
me cito, poenam patiendo magnam
ibis ad astra.

Tortor iratus petit, ut talenti
pondus ignoti manifestet omne
mente vesana cupiens vorare
aurea lucra.

Sprevit hic mundiun peritura dona,
fert opem nudis, alimenta claudis,
dividit nummos miseris cateruis
corde flagranti.

Igne torquetur, stabili tenore
cordis accensus superat minaces
ignium flammas in amore vitae
semper opimae.

Uritur postquam latus omne testis,
verte, profecto loquitur iocando,
corporis partem laniando coctam
dentibus atris.

Spiritum sumpsit chorus angelorum,
intulit coelo pie laureando,
ut scelus laxet hominum precando
omnipotentem.

Supplici voto rogitemus omnes:
sancte Laurenti veniam preceris,
qui tuum festum celebrant ubique
voce vel actu.

Gloriam Patri resonemus omnes,
eius et Nato iubilemus apte,
cum quibus regnat simul et creator
Spiritus almus.
