am I using lnktxt wrong?

  • Posted by: Vaarky 08:07, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
 Help

I tried using {{LnkTxt|psalm 1|Lasso, Orlando di}} and it shows the Psalm 1 link in red. LinkText works with psalm 1 lowercase; I also tried Psalm 1 with the P in uppercase to match the page name. I tried replacing the underscore. LinkText works fine for me. Can someone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong when trying to use LnkTxt? Tx.

LnkTxt is for linking to a text/translations category rather than to a text/translations page. Carlos and I had his "brilliant"(??) idea that "manual" maintenance of links to text/translations pages was a royal pain and that, instead, we should try switching over to text-translations categories ... there are a few ... and LnkTxt is the appropriate way to link to these directly (although LinkText would work too, since the "old" text-transl pages redirect to the "new" text-transl cats. Whether all that was a good idea might be in doubt, at least if we can think of a good DPL way to achieve the same effect - namely, to lessen the onus of manually pointing to text-translation pages.

 Help

I almost understand. The part I'm still unclear on is this: does the category have to be created manually first, and how is that done?
