Talk:Patrocinium musices cantionem prima pars (Orlando di Lasso)

WRONG TITLE
I appreciate the good intentions of those who renamed this page, but perhaps they should first take reading lessons (and some Latin as well.)
Cantionem is Singular Accusative which makes no sense.
I put the title in the Description: Cantionum (Plural Genitive)... opus novum. Which means "A new work of songs (called motets)".
So you should have left the title of the page unchanged (Patrocinium musices... prima pars), or you should have made it "Patrocinium musices. Cantionum ... opus novum.Prima pars."
The way it is now it is incorrect (with spelling mistake) and makes no sense.
By the way, Prima pars (first part) refers to the series of Patrocinium musices. So this is first part of Patrocinium musices (the second part contains Ordinaries of the Mass, the third part Propers of the mass) not the first part of new motets.

Please, Imre, feel free to suggest any correct title instead, knowing that:
- the shorter is the best
- please, no ellipsis, no triple dots, no more than one dot or one comma, etc. because they are NOT in the original title and they should prevent the useful automatic linking system (from work pages to their corresponding publication pages) to operate successfully. Patrocinium musices. Cantionum opus novum. Prima pars.
Triple dots show that not the whole title is used. But if you don't like it, then okay.

Your suggestion sounds good to me. But since you correctly say, Prima pars refers to the first part of Patrocinium musices, so would a title like
Patrocinium musices, prima pars or
Patrocinium musices, prima pars: Cantionum
be acceptable? Then the other parts might be
Patrocinium musices, secunda pars (or Patrocinium musices, secunda pars: Missae aliquot )
Patrocinium musices, tertia pars (or Patrocinium musices, tertia pars: Officia aliquot )
Patrocinium musices, quarta pars (or Patrocinium musices, quarta pars: Passio idem lectiones )
Patrocinium musices, quinta pars (or Patrocinium musices, quinta pars: Magnificat aliquot )
Rarely is the whole title taken for the short title, just enough to describe it and distinguish it from others – so it doesn't take up too much space in tables and lists. But you can choose whatever you want.— Barry Johnston (talk) 22:58, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
