Voi ve n'andate al cielo, occhi beati e santi
Co'l vostro chiaro lume e con miei canti
Ed io che son di gelo,
senz'un conforto solo,

Così facess'amore, occhi sereni voi!
Ché allor vedreste poi
quel che de' haver un ben pietoso core;

You look at the sky, blessed and holy eyes
With your clear light and with your songs
