Usciva omai dal molle e fresco grembo
de la gran madre sua la notte oscura,
aure lievi portando e largo nembo
di sua rugiada preziosa e pura;
e scotendo del vel l'umido lembo,
ne spargeva i fioretti e la verdura,
e i venticelli, dibattendo l'ali,
lusingavano il sonno de' mortali.
