Lors il lui dit, "L'ahan ne sert ici;
Contentez-vous ce n'est bois que veux fendre".
English translation
So this hoary householder, knackered by toil
Splits some wood. His wife's in front of him,
And she's like: "Why are you busting a gut?"
He's like: "So that it'll go in further".
She latches onto this phrase, since the next night,
Hugging him, she's like: "Mate,
Bash harder; it's only going halfway,
And give it some welly before dismounting".
So then he's like: "Welly's out of order here;
Be chuffed it's not wood that I'm wanting to split".
