Abraham Maxim was born in South Carver, Mass., in 1773; moved to Turner, Maine, sometime before 1800. Died in Palmyra, Me., 1829. Dropped dead in the street with Mss. of music and a Spelling Book in his pocket. In 1802, he published "Oriental Harmony," and "Northern Harmony," in 1816.
