Rener joined Maximillian's court in 1498 as a treble and was sent to study in Burgundy in 1500 when his voice broke. He worked at the Saxon court at Torgau 1507-1517 (formerly [[Adam von Fulda]]'s post) and all trace disappears after a court record from 1520. Besides 3 songs, he left 9 masses, 8 Magnificats, and motets including cycles of {{CC|Mass propers}}.
