Biography:
Alessandro Stradella was one of the leading composers in Italy in his day and one of the most versatile. He worked in Genoa, Venice and Turin.
Although he was only 37 when he died, Stradella left a significant mark on composition. His output includes works in all major genres, both instrumental and vocal; his surviving instrumental music comprises 27 works, and he wrote 7 operas.
