- annuncio vobis gaudium magnum:
- quia natus est vobis hodie salvator mundi.
- Alleluja.
- Gloria in excelsis Deo
- et in terra pax hominibus bonæ voluntatis

English translation
- The angel says to the shepherds:
- I bring you tidings of great joy
- For unto you is born today the Saviour of the world.
- Alleluia.
- Glory to God in the highest,
- and in earth peace, goodwill towards men.
- Alleluia.
