- Edition notes: The source has the alto part in treble clef, rather than octave-below-treble clef, which is clearly wrong, given the range, so has been transposed down an octave. The right hand of the accompaniment has also been transposed down an octave.

English text
Come, fill, my boys, each cup to the brim,
We'll drink to the good and fair,
To her whose tresses are dark as the night,
And the maid with the golden hair.
Oh who so cold as he fills his glass,
And sees the bright bubbles rise,
But kissing the crystal ring,
Recalls his lady's eyes!
Then hip hip hurrah, with a hip hip hurrah!
Recalls his lady's eyes.
What so sweet as woman's smile,
When all around is fair?
What so soft as woman's voice,
To soothe us in our care?
Then fill, my boys, each cup to the brim,
We'll drink to the good and fair,
To her whose tresses are dark as the night,
And the maid with the golden hair,
Oh, who so cold, as he fills his glass,
And sees the bright bubbles rise,
But, kissing the crystal ring,
Recalls his lady's eyes!
Then hip hip hurrah, with a hip hip hurrah!
We'll drink to the good and fair.
