General Information

Title: Dank sei dir, Herr
Composer: Justus Wilhelm Lyra

Number of voices: 4vv   Voicing: SATB

Genre: SacredMotet

Language: German
Instruments: A cappella

Published: 1857 (as 'Ipse Deus pastor meus'

Description: The music of this motet has been composed by Justus Wilhelm Lyra (1857). The original lyrics were Latin ("Ipse deus pastor meus"). But as these original Latin lyrics (i.m.o.) did not fit very well to the music, I replaced them by some German lyrics I wrote, based on Psalm 86.

Dank sei dir Herr,
