Description: This setting of Psalm 130 concludes with a "Requiem aeternam." I've provided the option of returning to the opening verse and skipping the Requiem verse.
In the original manuscript, Charpentier did not complete more than a couple of opening verses, providing an harmonic sketch, some rhythmic pointing (e.g., the first verse) and the remaining text. I presume that, as in Anglican chant, his singers would have filled in the words, with their own text rhythms, to the given harmonies.
This edition provides a practical approach to Charpentier's original, along with a continuo realization.
