Ich schau empor nach jenen Bergen:
wo kommt mir Hilfe her?
Vom Ewigen kommt meine Hilfe,
der Himmel schuf und Erde.
Er lässt nicht gleiten deinen Fuß,
dein Hüter schlummert nicht.
O nein, er schäft und schlummert nicht,

Der Herr behüte dich vor Übel, behüte deine Seele!
