Ego cognovi quod erit bonum timentibus Deum, qui verentur faciem ejus.
Non sit bonum impio, nec prolongentur dies ejus,
sed quasi umbra transeant qui non timet faciem Domini.
(Ecclesiastes, 8,12b-13)
English translation
I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, who dread his face.
But let it not be well with the wicked, neither let his days be prolonged,
but as a shadow let them pass away that fear not the face of the Lord.
Hungarian translation
Én tudom, hogy jól járnak az istenfélők, kik az ő orczáját félik.
Ne is járjon jól az istentelen, és napjai ne hosszabbodjanak meg;
hanem mint az árnyék, múljanak el, kik nem félik az Úr orczáját.
