General information

Eucharistic Song for the feast of Corpus Christi. There are at least 4 such chants: vv. 51-52a are the antiphon to the Benedictus at Lauds on Corpus Christi; vv. 51,50 are a Magnificat antiphon for Ember Wednesday.
Source of text is John 6:48-52a.

6:49  Patres vestri manducaverunt manna in deserto, et mortui sunt.
6:50  Hic est panis de coelo descendens: si quis ex ipso manducaverit, non morietur.
6:51  Ego sum panis vivus, qui de cælo descendi.
6:52a  Si quis manducaverit ex hoc pane, vivet in æternum:
6:52b  et panis quem ego dabo, caro mea est pro mundi vita.
