General Information

Title: Es soll keiner
Composer: Anonymous
Lyricist:

Number of voices: 3vv   Voicing: STB

Genre: SecularCanon

Language: German
Instruments: A cappella

{{Published}} is obsolete (code commented out), replaced with {{Pub}} for works and {{PubDatePlace}} for publications.

Description: Zoilus (400 - 320 BC) was a Greek grammarian, (in)famous for his relentless criticism on Homer. This apparently gained him the reputation for being a bit of a nag, hence probably this "dedicatory" canon at the beginning of the publication, where the "author" (composer?) defends himself against future critics of his work.

Es soll keiner Sach verlachen,
er könn dann solche besser machen
wie da mein Sprichwort laut
leichter veracht
als nach gemacht.
