May have been part of a Magnificat. Not included in the catalogue of works by Sheppard in Grove, although manuscript clearly indicates that it is by him.
According to Grove, part of an incomplete 6-voice Magnificat, for which there are a number of different sources, the Christ Church manuscript (Mus. 984-988) containing this 'Esurientes' section.

Edition notes: Previously published in "History of Music" by Charles Burney, 1776. Burney omits the sharp on the C in the second alto part, bar 51 and changes the D in the second bass part bar 43 to an F. The sharp to the C and the natural to the B in the first alto part in bar 54 were added by Burney and have been retained. Slurs between minims (half notes) in this edition represent ligatures between semibreves (whole notes) in the manuscript.
