Description: Published in Southern and Western Pocket Harmonist, 1866, p. 84, for three voices: Treble-Tenor-Bass. Words by an anonymous author, apparently first published in The Baptist Harmony in 1834, with thirteen stanzas. The music has meter 99. 98, but some of the stanzas of this hymn are 98. 98, making it necessary to adjust the words somewhat to fit the music.
