Born: 1603 (often given as 1604, though it now appears he was baptized 17 Nov. 1603)

Died: 8 January 1688

Biography Apart from journeyman years in Munich, Cologne and Brussels, Foggia's career was spent mainly in his native Rome, where in 1637 he became maestro di cappella at St. John in the Lateran, moving to S Maria Maggiore in 1677. His son Antonio Foggia (c.1650-1707) also composed.
