English text
When I was a child
I would play along a creek
I remember wanting to be that creek,
Wanting to run along it
And see where it would end.
Free to go wherever I pleased
Free to make decisions by myself
I could go to the gulf perhaps
Or float down an underground river
Free to just go wherever the wind would take me
But then,
My mom called me inside
And I realized, I was not free like a river,
Not yet anyway.
