Description: Published in Andrew Johnson's Eclectic Harmony, 1847, p. 29, for three voices: Treble-Tenor-Bass. Words by Isaac Watts, in Hymns and Spiritual Songs, 1707, Hymn 9 of Book 2, with six stanzas. Johnson used the first and third stanzas of Watts' hymn in his composition. See Eskew (2001) for a discussion of this tune.
