Dolorosa prigion il ciel prescrisse,
Di color, di calor, di moto privo
Già freddo marmo al marmo il volto affisse.
Al fin sgorgando un lagrimoso rivo,
In un languido oimè proruppe, e disse:
O sasso amato tanto, amaro tanto,
