Hence for ever, baneful sorrow;
Heart-corroding cares away.
Why should boding of tomorrow
Kill the pleasures of today?
Now to friendship fill the glasses,
Freedom, harmony and peace;
Toasting round our fav'rite lasses,
Toasting calm and lasting bliss.
