Edition notes:
The original manuscript was notated in chiavette, or "high clefs". The untransposed version posted here may work well for a women's ensemble, provided you have tenors capable of singing the C below middle C, or can employ a continuo instrument to cover the bottom line.
Current scholarly consensus requires that such music be performed at a downward transposition of a perfect fourth relative to notated pitch, assuming an A=440Hz standard. The version provided for mixed choirs meets this criterion.
The setting for male choir is as performed by the Tallis Scholars, and is transposed down a sixth.
