German text Ich bin jung gewesen, und alt worden; und habe noch nie gesehen, den Gerechten verlassen; oder seinen Samen nach Brot gehen. Bleibe fromm und halt dich recht. Denn solchem wirds zuletzt wohl gehen.

English translation I have been young, and now am old; Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his seed begging bread. Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell for evermore.
