German text
Tenor:
Ihr unsre neuen Leiter,
Nun danken wir auch eurer Treue;
Führt stets am Tugendpfad uns weiter,
Daß Jeder sich der Kette freue,
Die ihn an bess're Menschen schließt
Und ihm des Lebens Kelch versüßt.
Chor:
Beim heiligen Eide geloben auch wir,
Am grossen Gebäude zu bauen wie ihr.
Tenor:
Hebt auf der Wahrheit Schwingen
Uns höher zu der Weisheit Throne,
Daß wir ihr Heiligthum erringen
Und würdig werden ihrer Krone,
Wenn ihr wohlthätig für den Neid
Profaner selbst durch uns verscheut.
Chor:
Beim heiligen Eide geloben auch wir,
Am grossen Gebäude zu bauen wie ihr.
