In un bel prato di fiorett' adorno
vidd' una chiara fonte
si bella che parea cosa divina
a cui d'intorno intorno,
cantand'in voc' amorosett' e pronte,
sen gia donna leggiadr'e pellegrina,
laqual vedendo quella
che quas' al par di lei sembrava bella,
in se stessa recat' a et un poc' adirata,
con una pietra et con un viso grato,
la fonte in torbido ch'era nel prato.
