General Information
Title: Irish Ave Verum
Composer: Oliver Hayes
Lyricist:
Number of voices: 1v Voicing: Unison
Genre: Sacred, Motet
Language: Latin
Instruments: Organ
First published: 1996
Description: This piece was written when I was visiting various family members in Ireland and on pilgrimage to Our Lady of Knock in 1996. This is the first piece that I have had successfully performed and it proved very popular. Recently I have dug it out of my music manuscripts and reworked the harmonies. It alas can be seen a lament for Irish Catholicism, just after the recent referendums.
