Biography
Jayme Amatnecks is a Brazilian composer and conductor.
Amatnecks received training in the Brazilian states of Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná and São Paulo. He was a pupil of Gabriel de Paula Machado, Lucia Passos and Hans-Joachim Koellreutter, having also participated in chamber groups as the UEPG Choir, the Choir of Unisinos and the Choir of Teatro Guaíra.
Participated in conferences, workshops and courses on choral conducting, presented by names like Erik Westberg (Sweden), Alberto Grau (Venezuela); Paul Oakley (USA); Eph Ehly (USA); Dennis Jewett (USA); Joseph Prats (Spain); Janet Galván (USA); Bob Chilcott (England); Hans-Peter Schurz (Germany); Rodney Eichenberger (USA); Gunta Malevica (Latvia) and Oswaldo Ferreira (Portugal).
In 1987 he founded the Children's Choir of UEPG and in 1999 organized the choirs Ars Musica and Vox Pop with which he performed numerous concerts, promoting mainly the vocal repertoire of Brazilian music.
From 2002 to 2005 he conducted the Symphony Orchestra of Ponta Grossa, and from 2005 to 2011 he taught at the Potiguar University (UNP). Directed the Choir of CEIC, the Women's Choir St. Cecilia, the Choir of AFENAB/AABB and the Choir of the Federal Court of Rio Grande do Norte (2005-2011).
