'''Composer's Note:''' The setting of this song has been a variation of a setting that was originally made for Hermann Hesse's poem [[Blumen nach einem Unwetter (Huub de Lange)|Blumen nach einem Unwetter]]. On second thoughts I have decided to keep the music exclusively for the original poem that inspired the music to come alive. Therefore the pdf- and mp3 files are not available anymore. But DON'T PANIC! At the moment (October 2012) I am working on a brand new tailormade setting of 'Laughing Song'. I hope to be able to publish it on CPDL in November.

Composer's Note: The setting of this song has been a variation of a setting that was originally made for Hermann Hesse's poem Blumen nach einem Unwetter. On second thoughts I have decided to keep the music exclusively for the original poem that inspired the music to come alive. Therefore the pdf- and mp3 files are not available anymore. But DON'T PANIC! At the moment (October 2012) I am working on a brandnew tailormade setting of 'Laughing Song'. I hope to be able to publish it on CPDL in November.

When the green woods laugh with the voice of joy,
And the dimpling stream runs laughing by;
When the air does laugh with our merry wit,
And the green hill laughs with the noise of it;

when the meadows laugh with lively green,
And the grasshopper laughs in the merry scene,
When Mary and Susan and Emily
With their sweet round mouths sing 'Ha, ha he!'

When the painted birds laugh in the shade,
Where our table with cherries and nuts is spread:
Come live, and be merry, and join with me,
To sing the sweet chorus of 'Ha, ha, he!'
