Dr. Sisk studied at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (1968 – 1971), then at the Roosevelt University where he achieved the Bachelor of Music, Music History, Literature, and Theory (1974 – 1977), and at the Northwestern University where he achived MM and PhD in Musicology (1981 - 1986).

He studied composition with John Downey at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.


He is Chairman of the Music Department at the Lewis University. He administers an academic department with 25 instructors. He conducts the choir and orchestra, teaches courses in music history and theory, and offers applied instruction in bassoon. He has also taught in the foreign language program.

He is also Music Director at the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra, where he has conducted over 100 concerts of orchestral music, and Choirmaster at the St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church in Aurora, IL. The Liturgical Choir at St. Athanasios sings the Divine Liturgy a cappella in Greek every Sunday morning.

Biography

Lawrence Sisk studied at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (1968 – 1971), then at Roosevelt University (Bachelor of Music, Music History, 1977), and at Northwestern University (PhD, Musicology, 1986). He studied composition with John Downey at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
