Lawrence Sisk studied at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (1968 – 1971), then at Roosevelt University (Bachelor of Music, Music History, 1977), and at Northwestern University (PhD, Musicology, 1986). He studied composition with John Downey at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.


He is Chairman of the Music Department at Lewis University, near Chicago, where he  conducts the choir and orchestra, teaches courses in music history and theory, and offers applied instruction in bassoon. He has also taught in the foreign language program.

Life

Born: 31 January 1950

Biography

Lawrence Sisk studied at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (1968 – 1971), then at Roosevelt University (Bachelor of Music, Music History, 1977), and at Northwestern University (PhD, Musicology, 1986). He studied composition with John Downey at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.

Since 1988 he has been Professor of Music and Chairman of the Music Department at Lewis University, near Chicago, where he conducts the choir and orchestra, teaches courses in music history and theory, and offers applied instruction in bassoon. He has also taught in the foreign language program.
