Lungi dal mio bel Sole,
un tal martir m'assale
ch'il lacrimar non vale,
ne cosa veggio mai che mi console,
anzi quanto mi doglio,
tanto cresce nel cor l'apro cordoglio.
Hor qual fia la mia vita,
s'in van piango e sospiro e miro,
e pianger sempre a lacrimar m'invita:
ahi ch'è stupor ch'io viva,
hor ch'a torto il mio Sol de se mi priva.
E ch'i m'avra pietade,
se'l mio vivo resoro,
sa che mi spasmo e moro,
e m'è tanto crudel, quanto'ha beltade:
e quel che mi par peggio,
sa il mio male, e no'l crede, et io me'l veggio.
