2. Het hageld', het sneeuwde, het maekte kwaed weêr,
de rijm lag op de daken;
Sint Joseph tegen Maria sprak:
‘Maria wat zullen wij maken?’
3. Maria die zei: ‘ik bender zoo moê,
laet ons een weinig rusten.’
- ‘Laet ons een weinig verder gaen,
aen een huizeken zullen wij rusten.’
4. Dat kleen kindje weende op Maria's schoot:
komt, engels van hierboven.
Komt, kroont dees' maagd, 't is meer als tijd
want zij heeft er de Heere ontvangen.
