Mein Odem ist schwach und meine Tage sind abgekürzt, das Grab ist da.
Fürwahr, Gespött umgibt mich und auf ihrem Hadern muß mein Auge weilen.

Sei du selbst mein Bürge bei dir;
wer will mich sonst vertreten?
Wie stehest du dem bei, der keine Kraft hat,
hilfst dem, der keine Stärke in den Armen hat?
Wie gibst du Rat dem, der keine Weisheit hat,
und tust kund Verstandes die Fülle?

Aber ich weiß, daß mein Erlöser lebet und er wird mich hernach aus der Erde aufwecken.
