French text Mon père my veult marier, A ung homme qui porte barbe, Et ma mère luy va disant, Que ne suys pas encore en age C'est cela de quoy j'enrage Qu'on ne my veult marier, Et gay, gay, gay, gay, Age, age, age, vrai dieu, age Las, que feray je, je ne scay, Son [sans] ne my marie, je mourray.

English translation My father wanted me to be married To a man who wore a beard, And my mother went to him, saying That I’m not yet of a marriageable age. That’s what makes me furious, That no one wants to marry me. And gay, gay, gay, gay, Age, age, age; Good God, I’m tired of age: what I'll do I do not know, If I don’t marry, I’ll die.
