Italian text Moro, e mentre sospiro, L’aura d’un mio sospiro Corre volando a farsi alma d’un core Ch’anco ei sospira e more. Quando di lui la sospirata vita Nel mio cor vola e di cor più non priva Vive e, vivendo, aviva. Vita e morte gradita! Non sa che sia gioire Chi non sa così viver e morire.

English translation I die and whilst I sigh, one of my laments darts and flies into the air to be transformed into the soul of a heart that also sighs and dies. When from her heart the sigh of life flies towards mine, and the heart no longer deprived, lives and by living is enlivened, Life and death, be welcome! He who knows not how to live and die like this knows no joy.
