Description: From "Mapa Armonico Practico". Facsimile manuscript, including this score, published by Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas. Facsimile unclear in places owing to poor reproduction. The score is prceded by the following comment from the composer:
“'Motecticus stylus est processus harmonicus summa varietate floridus' (Kircher lib. vii, cap 5, pag. 585). Estilo motectico es también eclesiastico. Su composición las más veces es libre y suelta; otras atada a uno o otro tema de antífona, responso o cualquiera canto llano; que los antiguos usaban muy a menudo. Su composición ha de ser grave y devota, como la demás eclesiastica. Aunque no vaya atada a canto llano será muy del caso, que sus intentos sean sacados de el mismo, como se verá en el ejemplar que se sigue; y también que el tenor del primero coro canta todo el canto llano de la antífona, como va señalado con pequeñas lineas.
