Spanish text
(estribillo)
Pastores venid.
Pastores llegad
a adorar al Niño,
a adorar al Niño
que ha nacido ya.
(versos)
San José al Niño Jesús
un beso le dio en la cara.
Y el niño Jesús le dijo:
que me pinchas con las barbas.
Oiga, usted, señor José:
no le arrime usted la cara.
Que se va a asustar el niño
con esas barbas tan largas.
A José miró María
y a María, San José.
Y Jesús dijo a los dos
y sonrieron los tres.
San José miraba al cielo
viendo la estrella lucir.
La Virgen decía al niño
que suspiraba feliz.
English translation
(Refrain)
Shepherds come.
Shepherds outisde
to adore the Child,
to adore the Child that is born.
(Verses)
Saint Joseph to the baby Jesus,
He kisses him on the face.
And the baby Jesus said,
“The beard pricks me.”
Hey, you, sir, Joseph,
Not so close to your face,
That will scare the child
with those beards so long.
Joseph looked at Mary,
and Mary at Joseph,
And the child told both,
And all three smiled.
Saint Joseph looked to the sky
seeing the star shine.
The Virgin spoke to the child,
sighing happily.
