Italian text Pian piano, aure tranquille -- non destate costei. Dormono i dolor miei; deh, fermatevi! o venti: dormono i miei tormenti. Ma destatela pur, che mai non posa beltà crudel che m’è nel petto ascosa.

English translation Hush, hush, quiet winds -- do not wake her up. My sorrows sleep; ah, stop!, winds: my torments rest. In fact, wake her!, for is never asleep the cruel beauty concealed in my bosom. Translation by Campelli
