Life

Born: 1768

Died: 13 August 1814

Biography
Robert Cooke was the son of Benjamin Cooke: on his father's death in 1793, he succeeded him as organist of St Martin-in-the-Fields. In 1802, he succeeded Samuel Arnold as organist of Westminster Abbey. He committed suicide by drowning himself in the Thames, near Millbank.
