Biography

Robert Cooke was the son of Benjamin Cooke: on his father's death in 1793, he succeeded him as organist of St Martin-in-the-FieldsLink to the English Wikipedia article. In 1802, he succeeded Samuel Arnold as organist of Westminster AbbeyLink to the English Wikipedia article. He committed suicide by drowning himself in the Thames, near Millbank.
