Salvátor nóster, dilectíssimi, hódie nátus est:
gaudeámus.
Néque énim fas est lócum ésse tristítiae,
úbi natális est vítae:
quae, consúmpto mortalitátis timóre,
íngerit nóbis de promíssa aeternitáte laetítiam.

Our Savior, dear friends, was born today;
let us rejoice.
For it is not fitting that the place be one of sadness
where that life was born
which, by annihilating the fear of mortality,
bestows upon us the joy of the promise of eternity.
