- Si ignoras te, o pulchra inter mulieres,
- egredere et abi post vestigia gregum
- et pasce hedos tuos iuxta tabernacula pastorum.
- Equitatui meo in curribus Pharaonis adsimilavi te amica mea.
English translation
- If you do not know, O fairest among women,
- follow the tracks of the flock,
- and pasture your kids beside the shepherds' tents.
- I compare you, my love, to my company of horsemen among Pharoah's chariots.
