Died: 5 June 1823, New Haven, Connecticut
Biography Simeon Jocelin was a composer, clock maker, engraver, and storekeeper. He settled in New Haven by the early 1780s. His son Simeon was a famous abolitionist and chairman of the Amistad committee, as portrayed in the 1997 film Amistad.
