Description: First published in Songs of Zion, 1821, p. 37. Perhaps this is an arrangement by Carrell of an older folk hymn. Words by an anonymous author, five stanzas printed in Carrell's 1821 book. Southern Harmony, 1835, No. 28, is a three-part reduction of the above.
